Buhari has been in London for treatment for over two months, his second long visit for health reasons this year.
President Alpha Conde of Guinea on Friday asked Islamic worshippers in his country to pray for his ailing Nigerian counterpart, Muhammadu Buhari.
Conde had in March reportedly spoken to President Buhari on the telephone. Buhari had earlier in January missed the 28th Ordinary Summit of the African Union held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia in January 2017. Conde was elected AU chairperson in the event.
In a statement from his government and publish by Guinean websites, Conde asked “all mosques in Guinea to devout Friday, July 21, 2017, to prayers for the re-establishment” of his Nigerian counterpart.
Buhari, former military ruler, has now spent nearly four months of this year out of the country and has not been seen in public for more than two months.
When he returned from a previous trip to London in January and February, Buhari said he had “never been so sick” and disclosed he had undergone blood transfusions and a battery of tests.
