“Buhari has not disappointed me” - OBJ

Chief Olusegun Obasanjo said that President Muhammadu Buhari has not disappointed him in areas he is strong in.
President Muhammadu Buhari has been lauded for his achievements in office over the past two years, by former President Olusegun Obasanjo.

Obasanjo made his comments on Thursday, September 14, while speaking on CNN’s global affairs interview programme, Amanpour, which is hosted by its Chief International Correspondent, Christiane Amanpour.

The former president stated that Buhari should be credited for his achievements so far, and encouraged to do more.

He stated: “President Buhari has not disappointed me. Yes, he is fighting corruption, he is fighting insurgency.
“We are not there yet, and it is not a one night wonder.

“With what he has done, we should credit him and encourage him to do more.”
Speaking on the challenges confronting the African continent, Obasanjo further stated: “There are many challenges.

"How do we feed our population that is supposed to double in about a generation from now? How do we provide jobs for them and employment?

“Now, these are the challenges. It cannot be business as usual. We cannot sit in the cool and comfort of our past and think that we will be able to bring about change. Change has to come.”
The former president said President Buhari has performed fairly well in areas of fighting corruption.
He said not everyone would be satisfied with the way President Buhari has gone about it, but he has tackled corruption.
