A group of
ritual killers which include forty-year-old herbalist, Kayode Olaniyi; Sunday
Ojo, thirty years, and Kayode Ezekiel, thirty-five years were arrested after a team
of policemen and operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, at
Odi Olowo, Bolorunduro, Ilesa, Osun State, uncovered their hideout suspected to
be a den of ritual killers.
The suspected
ritual killers were arrested before noon on Friday, after security agents were
tipped off by an okada rider, who escaped being kidnapped by the group.
Punch reports
that the Public Relations Officer of the NSCDC in Osun State, Mr. Babawale
Afolabi, who confirmed the arrest said;
“An okada
rider, who said he escaped being kidnapped by the gang, reported to our office
in Ilesa that some criminals were using a building at Odi Olowo, Bolorunduro
area of Ilesa for ritual purposes.
“Our men
along with some armed policemen went to the building and arrested three men at the
shrine. Their telephone sets were also seized and the suspects were taken to
the police station for further investigation.
“We want to
advise the people of the state to be vigilant and conscious of happenings in
their environment. They should also feel free to alert us or other security
agencies of any suspicious movement in their areas. This will help us to make
the state safer and make it a no go area for criminals.”
Recall that
we reported yesterday that there was a mild drama in a Port-Harcourt high court
yesterday, after child rapist and killer, Ifeanyi Dike was arraigned before a
judge.
The
23-year-old UNIPORT undergraduate suspected of killing 8-year-old Chikamso
Favour, in August 2017, after raping her and harvesting her genitals,
reportedly gave a loud shout and refused to take his plea after his case was
brought up before Judge Enebeli, following his arraignment alongside
accessories after the fact which include; Ogochukwu Nnamiro (second accused
person) and Johnbosco Okoroeze, a police officer (third accused person).
