The Times on Thursday have a worrying report about Tottenham.
Spurs opened their Champions League campaign with a defeat at Inter Milan.
It was a bitter blow for Spurs, as they played extremely well for much of the Inter game.
Christian Eriksen fired Tottenham ahead in Italy. But the hosts turned the scoreline around in the final stages with goals from Mauro Icardi and Matias Vecino.
According to the Times, some Spurs players are now complaining about tiredness:

Several Tottenham Hotspur players claim that the team’s slump is down to exhaustion and mental fatigue and believe they should be given more days off.

Spurs stars sleep at the training ground after Inter
Which Spurs players have been talking to the press about fatigue?

Unfortunately no names are named in the Times report.

However, the broadsheet has revealed that Tottenham’s squad “were made to sleep at the training ground” after the Inter defeat:

They stayed at the new Lodge hotel at the club’s Enfield base for the first time after returning from Milan at midnight, before training yesterday in preparation for Saturday’s Premier League game against Brighton & Hove Albion.

The players have no issue with spending the night at the Lodge, which was built in the summer and used for rest periods between double training sessions during pre-season, but it has added to the feeling of some in the dressing room that they are being worked too hard, particularly given that many of them were heavily involved at the World Cup.

Son Heung-Min on fatigue
When considering which players may have spoken to the press, one has to assume Son Heung-Min didn’t.

That’s after the South Korean star recently spoke about the issue of fatigue following his participation in the Asian Games.

Son squashed the idea that he’s tired. In quotes circulated by ESPN, the Tottenham star has refused to use tiredness as an excuse:

I think this summer has been like any other summer, except that I’ve had to travel a little more.
I always tend to play a lot [in summers]. And I am not the only one playing many minutes. Fatigue is an excuse.
