Former House of Reps Speaker Bankole Vows To Defeat APC

The former speaker says that the economic complexities of Ogun state are not difficult and that his party will ensure mass employment in the state.
Dimeji Bankole, a former speaker of the House of Representatives, has vowed to defeat the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun state in the 2019 governorship election.
The former lawmaker who is the governorship candidate of the Action Democratic Party (ADC) made the statement on Monday, October 22, at his official introduction as the candidate of the party's headquarters in Onikolobo area of Abeokuta, Premium Times reports.

Bankole said he was confident his party would sack the APC in the poll because the ADC had the structure to emerge victorious.

“I am exceedingly happy to be nominated as our party’s gubernatorial candidate. I am grateful to this massive structure you have built in the last six years, especially in the last two years,” he said.

“I promise that I will not, in any capacity, play with the ticket that you have given me. I believe I can speak on behalf of all other candidates that come February and March 2019, we will deliver.

“I am speaking with all confidence with the work that you have done in the last two years, and still doing, most of it covertly. We are in for a shot at the seat in this state. We are dependent on God and the work that we have done and still doing especially at grassroots level."
Bankole said the economic complexities of Ogun state are not difficult and assured Ogun residents his party will ensure mass employment in the state.

Meanwhile, Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun state has insisted that there was no primary election in the state, accusing the chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole, of colluding with “a cabal in Lagos”.

Premium Times reports that the Ogun state governor spoke on Monday, October 22, after swearing in the new chief judge of the state, Mosunmola Dipeolu, at the governor’s office in Abeokuta, the state capital.

Amosun claimed the pupated election that produced Dapo Abiodun as the party’s governorship candidate for the 2019 election was fake. He said the silence of Bola Tinubu and Segun Osoba shows their consent in the alleged fraud.
