A twenty-three year-old
man, Abubakar Yahaya who got into a fight over a girlfriend ended up chopping
off his rival’s hand.
The fight between Abubakar
Yahaya and Mohammed Jafar in Yola, Adamawa State, was sparked by Mariam Boni,
Mohammed’s girlfriend’s decision to end their relationship to start dating
Jafar.
Eyewitnesses told newsmen
that Yahaya made several attempts to stop Mohammed from seeing Mariam, however
after Mohammed refused to give in to his threat, he ambushed him on November
21st with his friends and during the attack, used a matchete to chop off Mohammed’s
hands.
The suspect who was
arrested after the incident was reported to the police, will be charged to
court after investigation is concluded.
