Reno Omokri was the Vice
President, Africa, at Joe Trippi and Associates, a U.S Political Consulting
firm.
As the Special Assistant to
President Goodluck Jonathan of Nigeria, he was noted for using social media to
conduct surveys[4] and project the developments undertaken by the Nigerian
Government.
Reno Omokri, the former
aide to ex-president Goodluck Jonathan has reacted to the attacks on President
Muhammadu Buhari, the APC national Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole and other party
dignitaries at Ogun State Presidential Rally.
The presidential campaign
rally of the ruling party was on Monday marred with violence after the state
governor, Ibikunle Amosun, attempted to campaign for another candidate.
Frustrated by his action,
National Leader of APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu flung the APC flag and used his
left hand to support his jaw.
Vice President Yemi
Osinbajo was also shouted down during the rally in his home state.
Also, the crowd threw
stones at Buhari and Adams Oshiomhole as the president presented the flag to
the party’s governorship candidate, Dapo Abiodun.
Omokri, reacting to the
incidents, blamed Tinubu for the attack on APC dignitaries.
The former presidential
spokesman said the attack was as a result of insults rained on ex-President
Olusegun Obasanjo by Tinubu during APC rally on Saturday in Lagos.
Omokri on his Twitter page
wrote: “If you know you watched the video of Ogun Governor, Amosun’s face, when
Bola Tinubu was insulting President Obasanjo, a son of Ogun two days ago in
Lagos, you will not be surprised why Ogun people stoned Buhari and Tinubu
today.
“But Olusegun Obasanjo has
a strong head! It did not take up to 48 hours for those who were insulting him
to receive the greatest insult of their lives. And just as their insults on Obj
was caught on camera, their DISGRACE was caught on video.
“Watch this video of Tinubu
throwing the APC FLAG away in Ogun after being stoned and disgraced. Two days
ago he insulted Obasanjo as “expired milk” that should be thrown away. Two days
later it is APC’s flag he threw away.”
