The governor of Rivers state, Nyesom Wike, on Wednesday, April 17, directed the vice chancellor of the state university, Professor Blessing Didia, to submit names of cultists in the university to him for necessary actions.
Daily Trust reports that the governor gave the directive while receiving the governing council of the university.

Governor Wike also promised that he would do everything possible to promote the peace of the state.
“We thank God that all the political tension is behind us. You cannot govern a state when it is not peaceful. We continue to reiterate the need for peace. We want total peace and reconciliation,” he said.

Wike also approved immediate commencement of fresh employment of academic and non-academic staff at the university.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that Governor Wike said he is tired of being a governor after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) presented him his certificate of return as the re-elected governor of Rivers state.

The Rivers state governor who disclosed this on Tuesday, April 16, said that he would not contest for a third term even if the constitution permitted him.

He also dedicated his victory to the people of Rivers state who he said overwhelmingly voted for him.
