A man accused of murdering
the rapper Ermias Joseph Asghedom also Known as Nipsey Hussle has been indicted
by a grand jury, prosecutors say.
Eric Holder Jr is alleged
to have gunned down the Grammy-nominated musician in front of his clothing store, The Marathon,
on March 31.
According to an indictment
unsealed on Tuesday, Holder is accused of using a handgun to kill the
33-year-old Hussle.
As well as the murder and
attempted murder charges, Holder is also accused of assault with a firearm and
one count of possession of a firearm by a felon.
Holder was arrested two
days after Hussle’s death in Bellflower, about 20 miles southeast of where the
alleged murder took place.
Bail was set at $US6.53
million ($A9.48 million). If convicted as charged, Holder faces a possible
maximum sentence of life in state prison.
