Celebrity photographer,
Busola Dakolo, who accused founder of Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA)
Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo of rape has finally filed a formal complaint to the
police, The Nation reports. According to the newspaper, the police have
commenced
investigation into the allegation with Busola's official complaint.
Details of the official complaint are, however, scanty as at the time of filing
this report.
Prof Nwabueze appears for
Atiku, PDP Recall that Fatoyinbo had stepped down as the senior pastor of COZA
following the rape allegation leveled against him by Busola, wife of singer
Timi Dakolo. He stepped down on Monday, July 1, but still insisted that he had
never molested anyone before, ‘not even as an unbeliever’.
However, a poll by Legit.ng
indicates that beyond stepping down from his role as COZA's senior pastor,
Nigerians want Fatoyinbo to face justice by being charged to court. The poll
conducted on Facebook with over eight thousand respondents show that 58% wants
Fatoyinbo to be charged to court while 42% wants him to apologise to his
accuser, Busola.
Meanwhile, amid the deluge
of reactions trailing the allegation of rape against Fatoyinbo, a Nigerian
identified as Aliu Bolakale Jabata has made another serious allegation against
the embattled senior pastor.
Jabata in a Twitter claimed
the alternative narrative given in defence of Fatoyinbo was because those who
supported the COZA founder lacked the background knowledge about his antecedent
as a ''cultist." Jabata claimed Fatoyinbo was a student of University of
Ilorin when he was rusticated for being a notorious member of Aye
confraternity.
