Gunmen are demanding the sum of N100 million after kidnapping two daughters of late Chief Emiola Adesina, Director of Sports in the Old Western Region.
The two daughters were kidnapped on Monday in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, as disclosed by Professor Tunji Olaopa, a close associate of the family.
According to Olaopa, the victims, Omobola Adepoju and Abiola Olukotun were kidnapped along the Ife-Ibadan expressway.
He told newsmen, “This is authentic, please. Pastor (Mrs.) Omobola Adepoju and Mrs Abiola Olukotun are daughters of late Chief Emiola Adesina, old Director of Sports, Western State of Nigeria and Proprietor of Subuola Nursery/Primary School in Ibadan, whose funeral was held a week ago.
“Omobola came in from Atlanta (USA) and was with her sister in her farm at a location on Ife road in Ibadan when they were both kidnapped yesterday. The kidnappers have called the family to demand N100million.”
Confirming the kidnap, Police spokesman in the state, Mr. Olugbenga Fadeyi, stated that a combined team of security operative are currently working towards rescuing the victims.
“Yes. I am aware. The police are at the scene to rescue the victims.
“The police, anti-kidnap, SARS, all of them are already at the scene searching for the kidnapped victims.
“They are there to ensure that the kidnapped victims are rescued. I can assure you of that,” he said.
