Riliwanu Akiolu, the Oba of
Lagos has paid a courtesy visit to the deposed Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi
11 at his residence in Lagos.
Oba Akiolu, a prominent
traditional ruler in the South-West was the latest visitor to Sanusi who has
been receiving many visitors since his arrival in Lagos in the early hours of
Saturday.
Sanusi left Awe in Nasarawa
state on Friday where he was banished after his deposition by the Kano State
Government.
Since his arrival in Lagos,
his house has been turned to a Mecca of sorts where he has been receiving many
dignitaries on a solidarity visit, with Oba of Lagos also visiting on Sunday
night.
Kaduna State Governor,
Malam Nasiru El-Rufai had on Saturday led a team of dignitaries to Sanusi’s
residence, which included the Presiding Pastor of Latter Rain Assembly, Tunde
Bakare; the Managing Director of the Nigeria Ports Authority (NPA), Hadiza Usman,
among others.
Governor Kayode Fayemi of
Ekiti State had also visited.
