
The Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Aliyu Saifudeen presented the appointment letter to the first-class traditional ruler on Friday.
Alhaji Mohammed-Kudu Kawu, director
north central of Polaris Bank has become the new Emir of Lafiagi in Kwara
state. He succeeded Alhaji Saadu
Kawu-Haliru who died on July 8.
His appointment was announced today by
Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq.
The appointment was in conformity with
the powers conferred on the governor by Chiefs Appointment and Deposition Law.

The presentation was done on behalf of
Governor AbdulRazaq.
Saifudeen congratulated the new emir on
the well-deserved appointment.
He reminded Mohammed-Kudu that the
appointment had put him in good stead to build a bridge of harmony,
understanding, tolerance and peaceful coexistence among his people.
The new emir praised Allah for making
the occasion a reality.
He said he would be fair to all and
carry everyone along in the discharge of his responsibilities.
Kawu also assured that he would promote
peaceful coexistence.
He would also participate in the programmes and policies of the state government.
