The UK prime minister and his wife arrived at St Paul's Cathedral for the service shortly before members of the Royal Family.
According
to report, Boris Johnson was booed as he walked into the Service of
Thanksgiving for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee on Friday morning.
Crowds
could be heard booing and whistling as the Prime Minister stepped out of his
car with wife Carrie and walked up the steps to St Paul's Cathedral.
The Prime
Minister appeared not to acknowledge the crowds, but the response to his
arrival was audible on live footage covering the event with a sizeable
proportion of the crowd jeering him.
The Duke
and Duchess of Sussex Meghan and Harry arrived soon after and were loudly cheered by the crowd
as they made their way into the building.
Neither
the Queen or her son Prince Andrew were able to attend the event.
Buckingham
Palace announced late on Thursday that the Queen would miss out due to
experiencing "discomfort" at the Trooping the Colour parade on
Thursday.
During the
service, Johnson read a short excerpt from the Bible.
"Rejoice
in the Lord always... Let your gentleness be evident to all...
"Do
not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition,
with thanksgiving, present your requests to God."
