Security guard Jesse Dixon has alleged that Sir Rod and Sean assaulted him at the luxurious Breakers Palm Beach Hotel.
According to
report, Sir Rod Stewart and his son are set to stand trial over an alleged
altercation at a hotel in Florida.
The Maggie
May singer, 76, and his son Sean, 40, were charged with simple battery over an
alleged incident involving a security guard on New Year’s Eve 2019.
The trial has
now been set for September, although a court in Florida heard the case may
still be resolved before then.
He says the
singer punched him in the ribs during a row over access to a private party in a
children’s area.
Sean, the
star's son with his ex-Alana Stewart, allegedly got “nose to nose” with Dixon.
The pair were
charged in January 2020 and have both pleaded not guilty.
A hearing was
held on Zoom on Friday (28 May) and Judge August Bonavita set a trial date for
14 September.
The
prosecution had asked for a convenient date for the alleged victim, who does
not live in the state.
However, Asa
O’Neill, for the prosecution, said his negotiations with Guy Fronstin, the
Stewarts’ lawyer, may bring a resolution to the case before trial. Sir Rod and
his son were not on Zoom for the hearing
